Puerto Rico import terminal operator EcoElectrica expects to wait at least a year before applying for the go-ahead to build a second tank at its Penuelas facility despite local demand for gas.
The company said in a filing with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission this week that the expansion plan remains an option for the future.
The Puerto Rico Electricity and Power Authority has meanwhile revealed a pressing need for extra supplies at its Costa Azul power plant, which will soon be fully converted to run on gas.
