Clarification meetings are continuing over a third floating storage and regasification unit for Indonesia amid talk the project will be cancelled.
Shipowners and FSRU providers Golar LNG and Hoegh LNG are understood to remain in negotiations with Indonesian state energy company Pertamina, which already operates a unit off West Java. Local press reports have suggested, however, that subsidiary Pertagas has halted work on a proposal to install an FSRU in the Central-East Java region.
The government recently ordered gas distributor Perusahaan Gas Negara to relocate its planned FSRU for Belawan in North Sumatra so regasification facilities could be added to the existing Arun LNG production plant instead.
