Sumitomo Corporation and Tokyo Gas have teamed up to buy 2.3 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the planned Cove Point liquefaction project in the US.
The two companies are negotiating a 20-year binding terminal service agreement with project developer Dominion Resources.
This week Dominion said it has signed deals with two parties for the full 5 million tpa capacity at the proposed two-train plant.
