Gasnor and the Port of Hirtshals are running environmental studies to determine the viability of building an LNG terminal to offer fuel to ships in Denmark.

The port authority has now fixed a location for the proposed project, on expanded land of 96,000 square metres set to be created to the east of the harbour.

“The distance between the LNG terminal and the filling station at the container quay is 500 to 600 metres,” said Hirtshals Port managing director Jens Jensen.
