Colbun plans to issue a tender to selected contractors later this year for shoreside infrastructure to be used at its planned floating LNG import terminal in Chile.
The local utility said it has divided the development into two tracks with the dockside kit contracted separately from the floating storage and regasification unit.
FSRU providers Excelerate, Hoegh LNG and Mitsui OSK Lines are left in the running for the vessel contract, with a winner due to be named later this month or early August.
“After that we will send a tender for the (shoreside infrastructure) to our contractors and receive proposals for construction,” said a Colbun source.
“We are thinking of sending the documents out to around five selected contractors this year.”
