France’s GDF Suez is closing in on a deal which will see one of its two LNG regasification vessels chartered to Chinese interests to act as a floating import terminal.
Industry sources said one of GDF Suez’s shuttle and regasification vessels (SRVs) is in the process of being fixed for the business to China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC).
Full details have yet to emerge but the business is described as “fairly advanced” with one of the SRVs expected to undergo modification works shortly to prepare it for the job.
