China National Offshore Oil Corporation has started building its second LNG import terminal in Shenzhen city of Guangdong province.
Ground-levelling started last Friday on the $12.7 billion, 4 million tonnes per annum Diefu project, which is targeted to start operations in 2015.
Construction and operation of the terminal will be tasked to CNOOC Shenzhen Natural Gas Co Ltd, in which CNOOC LNG outfit CNOOC Gas and Power holds a 70% stake, while Shenzhen Energy holds a 30% stake.
