China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation has been tapped by sister company CNOOC Gas & Power to build the Yuedong LNG import terminal in Jieyang, eastern Guangdong province.
The engineering, procurement and construction deal is the first of its kind for COOEC, the nation’s top offshore oil services contractor.
The workscope involves building the 2 million tonnes per annum facility by the end of next year as well as an export pipeline spanning close to 100 kilometres.
