Japanese utility Chubu Electric is in talks with domestic shipowners for an additional pair of LNG carrier newbuildings after recently securing its first two vessels.
The company has approached Japan’s big three shipowners — Mitsui OSK Lines, NYK and K Line — in its hunt to add to its new LNG carrier arsenal, according to market talk.Some suggested the power provider is close to pinning down a third ship.
