Tokyo Gas Engineering has handed compatriot player Chiyoda an engineering, procurement and construction contract for its Hitachi LNG import terminal project.
Chiyoda will kick off site work in Ibaraki port, Hitachi district, in the 2013 fiscal year, with operations due to start in the 2015 fiscal year, which ends in March 2016.
Major LNG buyer and parent company Tokyo Gas last month struck a deal with the Ibaraki prefecture to purchase land for the terminal.
