Three bidders eyeing a floating storage and regasification unit project in Chile will have to wait another few weeks to hear if they have been successful after the award deadline was pushed back.

Chilean electricity generator Colbun is now expected to select an FSRU provider at the end of August. A decision had been slated for late July.

Excelerate Energy, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and Hoegh LNG have been short-listed for the job.

Colbun is seeking to moor a 150,000-cbm to 170,000-cbm FSRU in Quintero Bay, which would make it a near neighbour of the existing onshore GNL Quintero import terminal, by 2014.
