Calais LNG has revived plans to build a 1 billion cubic feet per day import terminal on Passamaquoddy Bay in Maine.
The developer, which withdrew an application for the project last December due to problems accessing finance, this week revealed it is “actively engaged” in pursuing the development.
Calais said it has held talks with Atlantic basin LNG suppliers.
Negotiations have most recently focused on completing a memorandum of understanding for a contract for LNG supply and other related commercial arrangements, the company said in a filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
