Brazil’s richest man, Eike Batista, is eyeing construction of an LNG import terminal in northern Chile.

The billionaire businessman said the proposed facility would be built as part of an iron ore port under development by two spin-offs of his EBX Group.

“Depending on Chile’s needs, the location is spectacular,” Batista told investors in a recent conference call.

Rio de Janeiro-based EBX is developing the Puerto Castilla project to export iron ore deposits found by mining subsidiary MMX.

The
