BP is turning to a floating solution for its first LNG import terminal in India.

Chief executive Bob Dudley said the UK-based supermajor is aiming to sanction a floating storage and regasification unit in the first half of next year.

The India Gas Solutions joint venture with Reliance Power, set up last year, has been considering either buying into existing Indian terminal capacity or building a regas facility of its own.

Meanwhile, Dudley told investors this week that BP is pushing for better pricing for KG-D6 domestic gas field production, where the supermajor also has a stake in partnership with Reliance.
