A soon-to-be-launched joint venture between UK supermajor BP and India’s Reliance Industries is looking at LNG import operations in the Asian nation.
BP India head Sashi Mukundan said the gas marketing alliance plans either to buy a stake in a terminal or build its own plant.
The venture aims to import cargoes through existing terminals in the meantime.
Mukundan told India’s Economic Times that the two outfits plan to incorporate the joint venture within the next 60 days.
