Bahrain in huddle on bids for role at terminal

Bahrain is set to host meetings in the coming weeks with eight bidders vying to become strategic partner at the Persian Gulf state’s maiden LNG import project.

The get-togethers will be used to “discuss and possibly modify bids before they select a final bidder or bidders to negotiate with,” said a source close to the process.

Bahrain opened bids from companies including Shell, BG Group, BP and ExxonMobil in April.
