Petrobras has selected Aracruz in Brazil’s Espiritu Santo state as the site of its fourth LNG import terminal.
The proposed regas project on the country’s central Atlantic coastline was detailed in presentations of the government-controlled oil and gas company’s mid-term business plan.
Aracruz’s Barra do Riacho neighbourhood will host the facility, according to gas and power boss Jose Alcides Santoro. Construction of the 14 million cubic metres per day terminal could begin next year.
