Power conglomerate AES kicked off a private tender this week for the procurement of up to three LNG cargoes for its Dominican Republic import terminal.
The US-based operator is sending a team to Houston next week to discuss its needs with potential suppliers, which have already been contacted about the initiative.
AES is beginning the tender with a request for proposals, said a source.
