Shipyards have been asked to hone their bids for three LNG carrier newbuildings required for the Inpex and Total-led Ichthys production project.
Yards were asked to submit a second round of offers by 31 July, sources said. Seven shipbuilders, four in South Korea and three in Japan, are said to be under consideration for the work.
Elsewhere, nine shipowners that pre-qualified to build the three ships are waiting to learn if they have made it onto a shortlist.
