Steel cutting has started for the first of two 156,000-cbm ice-class LNG carriers ordered by Norwegian newcomer Awilco LNG.
The company said in a results presentation this week that the vessel will head a list of seven uncommitted ships available out of the 19 LNG newbuildings due to deliver in the 2012-2013 period.
Awilco’s duo is due for handover in August and November 2013.
