Low-profile gas and LNG marketer Cambridge Energy has asked regulators for permission to export LNG from the US as it pursues a floating export plan.
The Atlanta-based company originally requested to ship out 500,000 tonnes per annum either by LNG carrier or in ISO-type containers, according to filings with the US Department of Energy.
Chief executive Sherman Bryant said Cambridge has since upped the request to 2 million tpa.
