Shipyards have been invited to tender to build up to three LNG carrier newbuildings to lift cargoes from the upcoming Ichthys LNG project in Australia.
French supermajor Total has put out the first part of its newbuilding search by approaching Japanese and South Korean yards, industry players said. The company has requested offers on two LNG carriers of 180,000 cbm in capacity and one of 155,000 cbm for delivery in late 2016 or early 2017.
