Dunkirk LNG is helping to develop regulations for LNG bunkering in France, which would allow the under-construction terminal on the north coast to offer the service.
An official decision on ship fuelling has yet to be taken. Operator EDF said, however: “(Given its position) at the entrance of the north-west Europe emission control area, Dunkirk LNG terminal will definitely play a strategic role in the development of LNG bunkering.”
Construction activities at the 13 billion cubic metres per annum terminal are well under way.
