Tsunami-stricken Tokyo Electric Power Company has teamed up with trader Mitsubishi to bag 20 cargoes from Eni.
The Japanese buyers will take the volumes from the Italian energy company’s portfolio over two years, an Eni source confirmed.
The shipments are expected to come from the Nigeria LNG plant beginning in October, said market sources.
Pricing is not immediately clear but interest in one to two-year deals is surging in Asia with precious few free cargoes available within the Pacific basin.
