STX Finland shipyard in Turku has held a keel laying ceremony for Viking Line’s LNG-powered ferry newbuilding.
The 57,000-gt Viking Grace will be launched in August with operations to begin in January 2013.
The ship will travel between Turku, Finland’s Aland Islands and Stockholm.
The Finish shipowner recently struck an LNG supply agreement with AGA, which will bunker the ship from its terminal in Nynashamn, Sweden.
