Shell and PetroChina are closing in on the next development phases of the Arrow LNG project in Australia that will involve contracts for liquefaction train construction management and upstream engineering.
A joint venture between Chiyoda, CB&I and Saipem is working on downstream front-end engineering and design for the project.
That work is scheduled to run for a few more months, after which three groups of LNG contractors will be invited to bid for an engineering procurement and construction management contract that will oversee work worth between US$12 billion and US$15 billion.
