Oman Shipping Company has swapped a VLCC berth at Hyundai Heavy Industries for an LNG carrier slot in a speculative play.
The owner has cancelled the last of its five 316,373-dwt VLCC newbuildings at the South Korean yard and translated this into a 162,000-cbm LNG carrier order scheduled for delivery in 2014.
Oman Shipping chief executive Nicholas Fisher said employment for the ship has yet to be lined up.
