Imaginative Taiwanese shipowner Nobu Su has unveiled the concept behind his design for an LNG shuttle newbuilding.
The Today Makes Tomorrow chief executive has come up with a 170,000 to 180,000-cbm membrane-Moss type LNG carrier that he has dubbed ‘Squid’. He is marketing the ship under TMT’s Bluesky LNG banner.
The vessel would be built with one or more Moss-type tanks in the bow that would sit alongside up to three reinforced membrane-type tanks or SPB-type tanks.
Squid would receive cargoes into its Moss-type bow tank, which is resistant to sloshing damage.
