New chartering manager Mats Karlsson said Stena Bulk would like to be a “niche LNG shipowner”, controlling five to 10 vessels.
Soon to be relocated to Sweden from the company’s Houston operation, he said: “We don’t believe we should be bigger than that.”
Karlsson, who was speaking at Informa’s LNG Shipping Conference 2012 in London this week, said it had been quite easy for Stena to enter the sector because the company was cash rich and able to act quickly.
