Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines has firmed up an order for two LNG carrier newbuildings that will be chartered to utility Kansai Electric.
The vessels are to be delivered in 2016 and 2017 by compatriot yards Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
The 165,000-cbm Moss-type LNG carrier ordered at KHI will be the largest that can pass through the expanded Panama Canal, MOL claimed.
