Maran Gas orders LNG carrier duo at HHI

Greek shipowner Maran Gas has exercised options for a pair of LNG carrier newbuildings at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea.

The John Angelicoussis led shipowner is paying $200 million for each ship, reports sister newspaper TradeWinds, which cited local media.

The newbuildings are to be delivered in 2014 and 2015.

The order adds to two other firm newbuildings that Maran Gas has ordered at HHI’s Samho yard.
