Representatives from four South Korean shipbuilders were called in for discussions in London this month, industry sources said.

The extent of Nigerian content, in the form of materials, training, employment and suppliers, is said to be a key element in the process. Recent legislation stipulates that all oil and gas projects are required to have an approved Nigerian content plan as a condition for taking a final investment decision.

Nigeria also has plans to develop a shiprepair yard in the near future and is looking for potential investment, sources said.
