An elderly LNG carrier controlled by BGT is to return to Japan for a second season serving as a winter cargo storage facility.
An agreement has been reached between the new charterer of the 126,300-cbm LNG Taurus (built 1979) and Japex that the ship will return to an anchorage near the Yufutsu LNG terminal.
It will park off Tomakomai Port on the north-east coast for the peak shaving period from late September into December.
