BW Gas is understood to be planning to use an elderly LNG carrier at a Chinese import project.
The 125,199-cbm Koto (built 1984), the former Kotowaka Maru, will be deployed without an engine, sources said. Details remain sketchy as to the exact location and nature of the project, however.
Koto had been languishing in lay-up off Labuan since the first half of 2009 when then-manager NYK opted to park the ship in what was a quiet market.
