Klaipedos Nafta’s board of directors has given the green light to a tender to build Lithuania’s maiden LNG terminal.
The oil products terminal operator has formed a committee to lead the procurement effort. The team has approved the tender documents.
Klaipedos, advised by US engineer Fluor, plans to acquire a floating storage and regasification unit under a build-operate-transfer contract.
The company has said, however, that it will also consider a floating storage unit with onshore regasification on Pig Back Island, in the southern area of Klaipeda port.
