Sanction of the Kitimat LNG project in western Canada has slid to the first quarter of next year.
Steven Farris, chief executive of operator Apache, said the joint venture with EOG Resources and Encana remains committed to a late 2015 start-up.
A final investment decision had been expected by the end of this year. The delay is a result of front-end engineering and design timings, Farris said.
