Hoegh LNG has pushed the deadline for declaring the first of a pair of floating storage and regasification unit optional newbuildings into the New Year as it waits to conclude a charter party on its first firm vessel.

The company was originally due to declare on the option at Hyundai Heavy Industries by 15 December.

Industry sources said declaration of the first optional 170,000-cbm FSRU is dependent on the signing of a full charter party agreement with Perusahaan Gas Negara for the Medan LNG import project in Indonesia.
