Norway’s Flex LNG is in talks with Samsung Heavy Industries about converting its floating liquefaction unit orders at the South Korean shipyard into contracts for LNG carrier or regasification vessels.



The FLNG wannabe is looking for a way forward after a projected December 2011 sanction for the Papua New Guinea-based Gulf LNG project failed to materialise. The company carried out front-end engineering and design work on an LNG Producer (LNG/P) unit to be deployed at the scheme.
