Japan is expected to receive its first fully laden Q-Max LNG carrier within days, writes Lucy Hine.



The 267,335-cbm Al Mayeda (built 2009) is scheduled to arrive with a Qatari cargo at Chubu Electric Power Company’s Kawagoe LNG terminal next week.



Last year, Qatar sent its 267,335-cbm flagship Q-size vessel Mozah (built 2008) to Chubu’s Chita terminal. However, the vessel is reported to have been carrying a part-cargo.
