The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is to prepare an environmental impact statement for Excelerate Energy’s planned floating LNG import terminal in Puerto Rico.
The regulator is taking public comment until 30 March on the scope of an environmental review for Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority’s Aguirre Offshore GasPort project.
FERC said its preliminary review has already identified impacts on recreational fishing, marine mammals, shipping traffic in Jobos Bay and visual issues.
