Yards and contractors have received an invitation to tender for front-end engineering and design work on a second LNG floating production unit for Malaysia’s Petronas .
The documents for the 1.5 million tonnes per annum floating production storage and offloading unit went out to four consortia.
In the mix are a grouping of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Chiyoda and Saipem; Hyundai Heavy Industries and Technip; Samsung Heavy Industries and JGC; and a partnership of Japan’s IHI Shipbuilding, CB&I, Modec and Toyo Engineering.
