An Excelerate Energy regas ship is to act as a bridging vessel in Brazil from November before the arrival of a floating storage and regasification unit newbuilding in 2014.
President and chief executive Rob Bryngelson said a 150,900-cbm ship will go on station at Petrobras’ Guanabara Bay LNG import facility until the new 173,000-cbm FSRU is delivered.
The FSRU currently in residence there, the Golar Winter, will shift to a new location in Baia de Todos os Santos, off Bahia state, to serve as Brazil’s third LNG import terminal.
