Sweden’s Stena Bulk has finally fixed its second large-size LNG carrier on a mid-term deal after a continuing stream of rumours in the market.

Subjects are understood to have been lifted by Italy’s Eni on a four-year charter of the 174,000-cbm Stena Crystal Sky (built 2011) at a rate believed to be slightly under $150,000 per day.

The deal locks the vessel away through into 2016, which would see the ship redelivered after the bulk of speculatively ordered LNG newbuildings have been absorbed by the market.

In December, sistership Stena Clear Sky was chartered out to producer Nigeria LNG at some $135,000 per day to the end of the first quarter of 2015.
