Italy’s Eni has gone out to the market for an LNG carrier for period charter exciting interest from the swathe of shipowners with speculatively ordered tonnage.
Brokers said Eni initially emerged with a request for a vessel for five years charter from 2014. After a first round of offers the Italian energy outfit tweaked its requirement leaving market watchers suggesting the move could be a rate-checking exercise.
