Classification society DNV is to study the feasibility of setting up LNG bunkering infrastructure at three Belgian ports.
The Flemish government awarded the contract to DNV to look at Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Ghent.
The work will include a market survey, risk and safety analysis, and modelling of the logistics, legal and regulatory requirements for establishing bunkering facilities at the ports.
“The Flemish ports authorities are optimistic about the potential for safe and efficient LNG bunkering operations and DNV’s multi-disciplinary analysis will help them move forward confidently,” said Mohamed Houari, DNV’s head of solutions for Central Europe.
