Three Chinese shipyards are scheduled to submit offers by the end of this month on a pair of LNG carrier newbuildings for BG Group.
The pre-qualified contenders are Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering Company (Nacks).
The tender, which has been the subject of some delay, is being handled by BG on behalf of China National Offshore Oil Corporation and its joint venture partner China Merchants, which together form China LNG Shipping (Holdings) Company (CLNG).
Delivery dates on the two 170,000-cbm LNG carriers remain open at present.
