Nobu Su-controlled Bluesky FLNG has signed an MOU with shipbuilder IHI to build up to 15 of the Japanese yard’s SPB-type LNG tanks.
The Today Makes Tomorrow boss wants to use the tanks to convert some of the unemployed vessels in the parent company’s fleet.
IHI is keen to see its sloshing-proof SPB-type LNG tank containment system return to production after a gap of almost 20 years.
