Bigger is better for chief at Golar LNG

Golar LNG is looking at expansion opportunities in the LNG carrier sector.

Chief executive Doug Arnell (pictured) said in a results briefing yesterday that this could involve second-hand purchases, newbuilding resales, or further LNG newbuildings with options to convert these into floating storage and regasification units.

Golar has seven LNG carriers and two FSRUs on order. Five of the units are due for 2013 delivery with the rest to follow in the earlier part of 2014.
