Brazil’s Petrobras is extending the charter period and increasing the rate paid to Golar LNG Partners on its floating storage and regasification unit Golar Winter as it shifts to a new location.

Golar said in a statement that it has reached an agreement with Petrobras to extend the charter contract on the FSRU by five years to 2024.

The company said it has also agreed an increased charter rate on the unit, amounting to about $24 million in additional revenue over the term of the contract before the effect of rate escalation as provided in the time-charter.
