New England’s transmission network operator ISO is requesting the ability to limit output from gas-fired power plants as a result of supply disruptions from Yemen.
The private player wants quick consent to implement changes to payment methods for multi-day posturing. This process allows the ISO to cut back production from units over several days “so that the full output of those generators is available when needed during an expected, future peak period”.
